With a high profile client roster of celebrities and models, Derek Blanks is living the commercial photographer’s dream.

His “alter ego” photos feature African-American actors, musicians and other talent like Tisha Campbell, David Banner and even “Project Runway” winner, fashion designer Mychael Knight. “America’s Next Top Model” winner Eva also seems to be favored subject almost in the same way that Pamela Anderson is the muse of photographer David LaChapelle.

Blanks’ celebrity photography is very slick, highly digitized and airbrushed and fantasy-like as seen in his Celebrity Alter Egos series. In 2007, he published Daughters of Men: Portraits of African-American Women and Their Fathers (Amistad).
